From Wikileaks : Burmese Military Junta Want to Buy Manchester United

The Burmese military junta leader, Than Shwe interested in buying English football club Manchester United. He's ready money poured U.S. $ 1 billion or about Rp9 triiun. Than Shwe wants to buy Manchester United eight months after Burma was hit by a tropical storm that killed 140,000 thousand people.

This desire is expressed through diplomatic cables owned by the United States Embassy who leaked Wikileaks. In the memo also says Tan Shwe is a fan of Manchester United, he encouraged his grandson to bid for Alex Ferguson's club that trained them.

By offering U.S. $ 1 billion feeding Tan Shwe is likely to become the largest owner, that amount of money could buy the 56 percent stake in Manchester United and become the majority shareholder.

Diplomatic wire was sent in June 2009 to Washington. In it is mentioned, one source reported Than Shwe's grandson really wanted his grandfather to buy Manchester United. "But a senior general said the purchase could be very bad, so that eventually they make their own football league," the diplomatic wires.

Proposal making this league completed before January 2009. League of Burma is finally rolling on May 16, 2009, grandson of Than Shwe to play for one club.
